We designed Island City Assisted Living to allow residents ample space for private moments, but also to provide them with natural opportunities to meet others and become neighbors. Whether sharing a cup of tea, the plot of an exciting novel, or the pace of our computerized treadmill, this is a good place to dispel loneliness. Dining is an important daily activity, eagerly awaited, as evident by our many dining areas! Our food is nutritious as well as appetizing. We encourage good eating habits by providing an interesting mix of fresh foods, including salads, breads, pastas, meats, fish, vegetables and fruits, prepared on-site by full-time chefs. Special diets are available, as are comfort foods. Even ice cream is available for those whose diets permit.
For entertainment Island City Assisted Living includes its very own movie theater, soda bar, crafts room, bird aviary, and beauty salon. Guaranteed to allow hours of social interaction for your loved one.
The Hospital Connection
Island City Assisted Living is an affiliate of Eaton Rapids Medical Center and is also a McLaren Health Care affiliate. When assisted living residents become ill or injured, our medical staff has, at its immediate disposal, all the resources of this major medical hospital. The trained and experienced staff at Eaton Rapids Medical Center provide Mid-Michigan residents with exceptional care from diagnosis through treatment and rehabilitation. ERMC has 20 licensed beds, a new Emergency Department and Specialty Clinics with more than 30 specialists from the Lansing and Jackson area. A sleep lab, nuclear medicine, MRI and CT are among the many diagnostic tools available here in Eaton Rapids. Personal care is an important part of our outstanding 24-hour assisted care. We offer personal grooming assistance to those who need it, medication management, laundry and housekeeping services for all, and bathing and incontinence care to those with special needs. Personal care is always performed with dignity and respect. Residents may wear alert buttons, activated by a simple touch, to call for assistance.
