Island City Assisted Living was awarded the Michigan Center for Assisted Living Sapphire Quality Award for 2015 — the only assisted living facility in Michigan to achieve the highest quality award for 2015. Our goal is to improve the quality of life, health and well being of the population we serve. Island City Assisted Living was awarded National Center for Assisted Living Bronze Award in October 2020.  We were only 1 of 2 Assisted Living facilities in the state of Michigan to receive this honor.  We also received the Michigan Center for Assisted Living Sapphire Quality Award for 2015 in which we were the only assisted living facility in Michigan to achieve the highest quality award for 2015.

My name is Stephanie and I graduated as a Greyhound here in Eaton Rapids.  I have my Bachelors of Science in Education from WMU. I have been given an opportunity to not only support and assist an amazing work team here at ICAL, but to be involved on a daily basis with a generation that I admire and respect.

I have been with ICAL for many years and am proud to be the new Director of Activities. My relationship with our residents grows every day and I couldn’t be more blessed to have the opportunity to spend my time with them.

Food Services Director

I am honored to be given the opportunity to be the back as the Food Services Director at ICAL.  I have been in the culinary field nearly my entire life, and I look forward to sharing some of my recipes of success with you!

I have been a Licensed Practical Nurse working for the University of Michigan for over 19 years and I am excited to bring my nursing experience to ICAL. I enjoy caring for people and inspiring our care staff and am looking forward to a wonderful career at this beautiful facility.

ISLAND CITY ASSISTED LIVING SOLE RECIPIENT OF 2015 SAPPHIRE QUALITY ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Island City Assisted Living is the proud recipient of the 2015 Quality Achievement Award from the Michigan Center for Assisted Living.  Linda Lawther, President of Michigan Center for Assisted Living presented this award to the home during the celebration of National Assisted Living Week.  Linda Lawther announced that Island City Assisted Living was awarded the highest level (Sapphire Award) in Michigan and was the only recipient in the State.  Linda stated that this is a great accomplishment.  Measurements included quality of care and services provided to residents, quality initiatives, person centeredness, employee engagement, monitoring of capital improvement and strategic positioning.   Sheryl James, CEO stated that she is very proud of the employees who give exceptional care to the residents and the Board of Directors for their optimal support.
