When Is it Time to Consider Assisted Living?

At Island City Assisted Living, we understand that very few seniors can leave their family home and begin a new living arrangement with no apprehension. Sometimes they adamantly resist the move. This is normal. It's also normal to feel guilty if you're the one responsible for uprooting a loved one who can no longer function comfortably and safely at home.

While there may be apprehension in the early stages of this change, we want to reassure you that our purpose is to make assisted living attractive, enjoyable, and helpful so seniors will wish they had come to live here sooner.

You may be worried before and after your loved one makes the move, but the team at Island City Assisted Living will help you both adjust and stay connected. To receive more information and to schedule a tour, please give us a call.

Thank you so much for the wonderful care you gave to my dad…while he was a resident at Island City. Everyone from the nursing staff, dining room, housekeeping, beautician, office team and everyone in between went out of their way to make sure his needs were met and they did so pleasantly and professionally. I never met anyone there who wouldn’t bend over backwards to do anything we needed. It relieved a lot of stress for me to know he was in a safe place where he would be well cared for. Thank you for taking the time to get to know my dad, visit with him, understand how difficult it was for him to move there and make him feel welcome at Island City. Although he wasn’t always the easiest person to care for, he was always treated with respect, dignity and kindness. My dad appreciated everything you did for him, as do I. I’m very grateful for everything you did for my and dad for me.
